13th Asian Tourism Fair concludes in Dhaka
The three-day ‘13th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2026’ concluded with a grand closing ceremony at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, driven by a resolve to enhance regional tourism connectivity and foster sustainable tourism development.
The major tourism industry event, which began on September 17, wrapped up successfully today, Saturday, amidst a diverse array of activities and an enthusiastic turnout of visitors. Mr. Sa Ching Pru, Minister of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. In his address, he stated, "There is no alternative to regional tourism connectivity when it comes to showcasing Bangladesh's natural beauty and cultural diversity on the global stage. By establishing a sustainable and eco-friendly tourism system, we can ensure economic emancipation for the people living in the country's remote regions."
Member of Parliament Mr. Naser Rahman attended the event as the Guest of Honor, while Barrister Mutasim Billah Faruqui, CEO of the Bangladesh Tourism Board, spoke as a special guest. The speakers praised the fair's unprecedented success and emphasized the importance of increasing domestic and foreign investment in the tourism sector. Reflecting on the event, Mohiuddin Helal, Chairman of the Asian Tourism Fair and Editor of ‘Parjatan Bichitra’, said, "Tourism flourishes through partnership and mutual understanding. This fair was not merely an exhibition of tourism products; it served as an effective platform for business networking and regional cooperation." Fair Director Borhan Uddin expressed deep gratitude to all stakeholders, exhibitors, and media personnel who contributed to the fair's success. The attractive tour packages and special discounts on air tickets offered by domestic and foreign tour operators, airlines, hotels, and resorts generated an overwhelming response among visitors. Various B2B meetings, panel discussions, and cultural exchange events were successfully conducted during the fair. Biman Bangladesh Airlines served as the Title Sponsor for the event.
Additionally, other partner organizations played significant roles in organizing the fair, including Platinum Partner Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport, Co-sponsor Chhuti Group, Hospitality Partner Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan, Investment Partner Bhaiya Hotels, and Agro-tourism Partner Shukher Khamar. Notably, the formal announcement for the upcoming ‘14th Asian Tourism Fair’—scheduled to be held in Dhaka from September 23–25, 2027—was made during the closing ceremony.
