The residential training camp for 'Notun Kuri Sports-2026' (First Phase) has officially commenced. This initiative aims to identify talented athletes from the grassroots level in Bangladesh and prepare them for national and international arenas through proper training.

Aminul Haque, State Minister for Youth and Sports, inaugurated the training camp as the chief guest at a ceremony held this Saturday afternoon at the Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Protishthan (BKSP). Also present at the event were Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Brigadier General Mohammad Saif Ullah, Director General of BKSP; representatives from the Chinese Embassy; officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, various sports organizations, and sports federations; renowned and legendary athletes of the country; young participants of the training camp; and BKSP trainees.

In his address as the chief guest, State Minister Md. Aminul Haque stated that the government's groundbreaking initiatives have led to increased interest and participation in sports among boys and girls across the country. Through these efforts, promising and talented youths scattered across remote regions are gaining opportunities to nurture their talents. He remarked that these young athletes would go on to strengthen the nation's teams and proudly raise the Bangladeshi flag in the international sports arena.

He further added that BKSP plays a vital role in building a strong future generation for the country's sports sector by scouting and nurturing talent at the grassroots level. The 'Notun Kuri Sports' program identifies talented players from various parts of the country and brings them under advanced training, a move that will significantly contribute to elevating the standard of sports in the nation. 

It is worth noting that a 40-day residential training camp has commenced at BKSP for 306 young talented athletes—initially selected from across the country—under the ‘Notun Kuri Sports–2026’ program. These young talents were chosen through a nationwide preliminary selection process held on April 28 and 29, 2026, followed by the official inauguration of ‘Notun Kuri Sports–2026’ on May 2, 2026. Participants in this camp will receive training aimed at enhancing their athletic skills as well as developing physical fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, and mental resilience. Upon completion of the training, the most promising athletes will be identified for potential integration into BKSP’s regular training programs.
