The Bangladesh Archery Federation has signed a MoU with Bangladesh Women's Sports Organisation to bring talented women archers from the grassroots. This initiative was launched by the two organizations at a program organized at the Riya Gop Women's Sports Complex in Dhanmondi on Monday.

World Archery Asia and Bangladesh Archery Federation President Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol and Bangladesh Women's Sports Organization President Sarwat Siraj Shukla signed the MoU during the signing ceremony. They outlined the details of this plan.

The training will be conducted through the Archery Federation's advanced coaching facilities, equipment and accommodation and security arrangements in the dormitory owned by the National Sports Council (NSC). Bangladesh's star archer Beauty Roy will be the coach at the training camp. The initial goal is to select 50 girls who are physically and mentally fit and have the required height and physical strength for the sport.

Noting that archery is not a sport that can be developed in a hurry, Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal said that it takes a minimum of three years to produce a quality player. Work is being done with the specific goal of bringing a big success to the country in the 2032 Olympic Games.

Most of the girls participating in the training are school and college-going students. Therefore, this program will not stop their studies, but rather will be conducted at a time when schools and colleges are closed and there is less pressure to study. In addition, the issue of girls' family life and education is being considered with utmost importance, said Sarwat Siraj Shukla, President of the Bangladesh Women's Sports Association.

Initially, the necessary technical support and equipment will be provided by World Archery Asia and Bangladesh Archery Federation. Later, arrangements will be made to supply these equipment to the players at a more affordable price at a discount price from the best world-class companies. This joint initiative is expected to play an effective role in maintaining the country's consistent success in the international arena and filling the partial gap in women's archery.
