Bangladesh U-20 hockey team reaches in China safely

Bangladesh national U-20 men's and women's hockey teams have arrived in Mochi, China to participate in the Junior Asia Cup Hockey.

After departing from Dhaka on US Bangla Airlines flight BS 325, the flight carrying the hockey team encountered some adverse and risky weather conditions while crossing Myanmar's airspace. However, after overcoming all kinds of fears and obstacles, the players and officials finally reached Mochi, China, safely and soundly at 9.20 pm China time on Sunday.

All members of the team are currently safe and looking forward to giving their best performance for the country in the tournament. Bangladesh Hockey Federation has sought everyone's prayers and support, ensuring the safe journey of the team.

Earlier, Bangladesh U-20 junior hockey team left for China on Saturday to take part in the Junior Asia Cup Hockey Tournament, scheduled to be held from September 4 to 13 in Moqi, China.

Bangladesh have been grouped in Pool B alongside Malaysia, Pakistan, hosts China and Kazakhstan.

The team will begin their tournament against hosts China on September 4. They will play their second group match against Malaysia on September 6, followed by a match against Kazakhstan on September 8 before playing their final group match against Pakistan on September 9.

The U-20 team faced the Bangladesh national hockey team in their last warm-up match at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in the capital on Friday, just before entering the field for this mega tournament. In this highly competitive and high-scoring warm-up match, the junior team ultimately lost to the senior national team by a margin of 4-3 goals.
