A two-day preparatory tournament is all set to be held between the archers of Bangladesh and Bhutan in view of the upcoming 20th Asian Games 2026. The special event will be held at the Archery Training Academy (ATA) in Tongi on 26th and 27th August 2026.

The Bhutan national archery team is visiting Bangladesh as part of the preparations for the Asian Games. The Bhutanese archery team has a total of 10 members, including 6 male and 1 female archers, 1 male and 1 female coach, and 1 male Programme Officer.

The Bhutanese team is coming to Bangladesh at the invitation of the Bangladesh Archery Federation to participate in training and competitive activities. According to the Bhutan Olympic Committee, the main objective of this visit is to gain experience in international competitions before the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, assess their preparations, and evaluate their respective performances under the pressure of competition.

In the context of the recent progress of Bangladeshi archery and its continuous success at the international level, this visit of the Bhutanese team will create an important opportunity for the archers of the two countries to exchange experiences and assess their preparations. Bangladesh has also competed against Bhutan at the international level this year and Bangladeshi archers have achieved success at the Asia Cup stage.

The two-day friendly match will give the archers of both countries the opportunity to test their skills and preparations in a competitive environment as well as gain the necessary experience before the big international event.

The Bangladesh Archery Federation hopes that this friendly sports event between Bangladesh and Bhutan will further strengthen the archery relations of the two countries and will play an important role for both teams in the preparation for the Asian Games.
