Dhaka emerged as champions in the 'Notun Kuri Sports' girls' cricket defeating Mymensingh by 19 runs at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Friday. 

Batting first, Dhaka scored 48 runs for the loss of four wickets and subsequently secured the title by restricting Mymensingh to 29 runs.

After winning the toss, Dhaka captain Afnan Zaman Athoi led the team from the front. Her unbeaten innings of 23 runs off 11 balls—featuring three fours and a six—proved to be the turning point of the match. Nusrat Jahan claimed two wickets for 10 runs.

In reply, Mymensingh faced trouble from the very beginning as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Three of their batters were run out. Riya Moni was named 'Player of the Match' for taking two wickets while conceding eight runs.

Rajshahi champions in d/l method

Rain interrupted in the boys final as Rajshahi was declared as the winners after Rangpur were set a target of 47 runs in three overs. Rangpur managed to put 27 for three in the board as Rajshahi ran away with a 19 run win.

Earlier, Sarafat Sadid. The finding of the meet blasted 74 runs off 26 balls hitting five fours and eight sixes to steer Rajshahi 134 for three in the stipulated ten overs. Tajbin Tasin Islam added 31 off 14 balls carved with four sixes.

Sarafat Sadid had none to compete for the man of the final award.

Earlier, Rangpur Zone defeated Faridpur Zone in the first semi-final of the boys' section of cricket in Notun Kuri Sports at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

 Batting first, Faridpur scored 89 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 10 overs. In reply, Rangpur scored 52 runs in 5 overs. Then, the game was stopped due to rain. 

Later , Rangpur were declared as the winner against Faridpur by 8 runs as per the Duckworth Lewis Method and secured the ticket of the final.

In the seond semifinal Rajshahi’s Sadid scored 53 runs before returning to the pavilion. Subsequently, riding on Sabith Anam Nirob's 22, Tahmid Hasan's 19, and Tamjid Hasan's 11 runs, Rajshahi posted a total of 125 for 4 in 10 overs. 

In reply, Sylhet managed 68 for 7 in their 10 overs. Rajshahi advanced to the final with a 57-run victory.

Meanwhile Mymensingh Zone won the first semi-final of Girls' section with a landslide 10 wicket victory over Chattogram.
