Country's highest-ranking National 9 Ball and 10 Ball Pool Championship 2026 organised by Bangladesh Billiards and Snooker Federation (BBSF), has come to an and with grand finale and Prize Giving Ceremony at Arena by Cuesports Academy in the capital on Sunday evening.

Brigadier General Sarkar Mohammad Shamsuddin, ndc, psc (Retd), President of BBSF, attended the final match as chief guest. He later distributed prizes among the winners during the Prize Giving Ceremony.

In the 10 ball grand finale, Nafiul Islam Tanvir pulled off an exciting 13-12 set triumph over MD Milon to clinch the title.

Nafiul Islam dominated in the first hour taking early lead but Milon later produced amazing fightback to level Nafiul.

After successfully defending his National Ten Ball title, Nafiul Alam Tanvir admitted that he had not expected to retain the crown this year.

"I was the National Ten Ball champion last time, and I'm delighted to have won the title again. Honestly, I didn't expect to win this time because my performance wasn't at its best. I managed to make a comeback in the middle of the tournament," he said.

Reflecting on the thrilling final, Tanvir praised his opponent for putting up a strong fight.

"I had taken an early lead, but my opponent fought back brilliantly. Milon is a very experienced player, and he made the most of every opportunity to stage his comeback."

Speaking about the tense finish, he added, "When the score is tied at 12-12, it's really a 50-50 contest. Milan played exceptionally well. He was also a semifinalist in the previous edition."

Looking ahead, Tanvir said his ultimate ambition is to bring success to Bangladesh on the international stage.

"My goal is to do something for the country by performing well in international tournaments. I have already represented Bangladesh twice in Vietnam, and I hope to achieve even more in the future. German pool star Joshua Filler is my idol."

Earlier, MD Al Amin clinched 9 ball title by beating Naimur Alam Pias in the final. 

Presented by Reedoy & Udoy Motors and ACME, the National 9 Ball Pool Championship was held from 5-11 July, where 100 players from different parts of the country participated. On the other hand, the National 10 Ball Pool Championship was held from 12-19 July, where 83 players participated.

These two national competitions organised with the participation of the country's best players are included in the BBSF Players Ranking System.

Champions received Taka 50,000 while Runner-ups got Taka 30,000. Each Semi-finalist got Taka 15,000.
