Jamaat Assistant Secretary General and Secretary of Publicity and Media Department Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair has expressed concern and grief over the killing of three people in Faridpur, lightning strikes and road accidents across the country.

He expressed this concern and grief in a statement sent to the media on Tuesday (April 28).

Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair said, “The brutal killing of a young man’s grandmother, aunt and a neighbor with a spade in Aliabad Union of Sadar in Faridpur is very worrying and horrifying. I strongly condemn and protest this murder. We believe that this is a manifestation of the extreme deterioration of the law and order situation. Even if the police arrest the young man involved in the murder, his punishment must be ensured through a fair investigation.”

He further said, “The deaths of two youths in two separate road accidents in Chakaria on the Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong highway, one youth in a road accident in Kabirhat in Noakhali, and three Buddhist monks in a road accident in Lohagara in Chittagong are unexpected and painful. The incidents of loss of life on roads across the country highlight the picture of mismanagement on the roads. I urge the government to take effective steps to prevent loss of life and property in accidents, including vehicle fitness tests, and to stop illegal traffic. At the same time, I demand that each accident be properly investigated, appropriate measures be taken, and compensation be provided to the affected families.”

He said, “Due to the monsoon storm and sudden lightning, three people were killed in separate lightning strikes in three upazilas of Noakhali and one in the Chaufaldandi Bridge area of ​​Chaufaldandi Union in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila, which is very tragic and heartbreaking. We are deeply saddened by these loss of life in natural disasters.”

Advocate Zubair said, “These deaths due to natural disasters, accidents and murders are an irreparable loss for the families. Therefore, the government must take steps to ensure humanitarian assistance to the affected families, justice and necessary financial assistance to those affected by the storm.”
